For 1999, Camaro continues the pony car tradition of affordable high performance with a V8 engine and rear-wheel-drive configuration — a true muscle car characteristic, unavailable in the imports. And, unlike many of its competitors, Camaro and Camaro Z28 provide both coupe and convertible model choices for a wide appeal. As a result, sales volume for the 1997 model year reached a healthy 58,152 units. Camaros clean styling, outstanding performance and racing heritage find favor with youthful-minded consumers who truly love to drive.
