Continuing Education Hours Increase: Effective immediately after 2002 RenewalPage 1Continuing Education Hours Increase: Effective immediately after 2002 RenewalHere are the facts about the recent increase in CE required for licensees of the State Board ofPsychology: To renew in 2002 20 hours are required and there is no requirement for ethics courses. To renew in 2004 and beyond 23 hours will be required including not less than 3 hours in"professional conduct and ethics." Definitions of "professional conduct and ethics" will be offered by OPA OSPA and theAssociation of Black Psychologists. CE offerings applicable to this requirement should beidentified as such by the sponsoring association to assist licensees in choosing courses. The Board will credit licensees with courses in "professional conduct and ethics" if approvedby OPA OSPA or the Association of Black Psychologists. PLEASE NOTE: ALL CE COURSES must be sent to OPA or OSPA for certification beforethe associations send the hours to the Board. This includes APAapproved courses.Unless you send CE certificates to OPA or OSPA they will have no way of knowing that thecourse was completed! The State Board of Psychology does not accept CE certificatesdirectly.
