Satoru Iwata Nintendopresident affirmed that he hopes Play History will improve the way games are regardedwithin families and that hostility towards games will gradually disappear. According to Shinichiro Tamaki representative of Nintendo's research and developmentdepartment the Play History record can not be deleted and he does not consider the new Play History system to be controversial. He explains that this feature will be able to help parents to keep track of their children andto analyze if the time that their children spend playing on the console is the correct one. Play History system could prove to be an interesting function as some users might beintrigued by finding out how much time they've spent playing a certain game. According to Nintendo officials this is why they decided to make the Play History system impossible toreset.
