This also means more traffic and congestion on our roadways. As we travel to and from work it is important for motorists to remember to follow correct safety procedures when sharing the road with school buses.According to the National Safety Council statistics have shown that most crashes involving a school bus result in injury or death of occupants of the vehicle instead of the school bus. Clearly when a vehicle collides with a school bus the occupants of the vehicle are at higher risk. School bus occupants are most at risk when entering or exiting the bus or when crossing streets in a school zone to Fleet Services continues to expand the Alternative Fueled Vehicle Program (AFVP) by acquiring new vehicles with zero to low emissions. The AFVP was established in 1998 to acquire alternative fueled vehicles (AFVs) that meet campus applications while minimizing the financial impact to campus departments. One of our newest AFV acquisitions is the 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid 4Cylinder CVT sedan. Like the Toyota Prius the Camry Hybrid has a hybrid fuel system that consists of a sophisticated highly efficient gas engine combined with an advanced electric motor that delivers the driving power. The vehicle automatically adjusts to a variety of driving conditions where one or both systems are used to maximize fuel efficiency and minimize emissions. No plugs or special charging stations are required.The Camry Hybrid is engineered to get up to 600 miles from a tank of gas which is practically twice the mileage of a regular midsize sedan and cuts smogforming emissions to almost nonexisten ...
