If you use a cardboard box for a measuring and shooting stand be sure the ruler is firmly attached to the end of the box so it will not shift causing measurements to be different for different images. If you used a cardboard box be sure to reinforce the middle with a stack of magazines underneath the box so it does not collapse in the middle of the experiment. Be sure the camera position is clearly marked on the box.If possible shoot one rotating and one non rotating pot on the stand at the same time withthe ruler between them. That way you can easily compare the same plants from subsequent days. Be sure to pair the same pots together for every shoot. Create position markers for the pots and the camera by drawing around each pot and the camera with a magic marker. When setting up the shooting standbe sure to position the pots over theirmarkers and be sure they are always positioned in the same place so they are always photographed from the same angle. Number the pots and be sure the numbers align with pointers on the front of the pot position markers. If you do not have room to set up a shooting stand large enough for two pots position a single pot next to the rulerthen composite the plant images side by sidein Photoshop Elements for use as a slide showor for a time lapse video.See the following Tutorials on compositing images in Photoshop Elements.9Black or Solid BackgroundPage 2107Adobe Photoshop Elements Opening ScreenAdobe Photoshop Elements Opening Screen gives the user many different options each indicated by an icon or symbol. In this project we will START FROM SCRATCH to explore selection tools and image editing. The following exercises will introduce many of the tools and techniques available in Photo ...
