CONTINUING EDUCATION Photoshop Essentials PREREQUISITES Mac Fundamentals or the equivalent. COURSE DESCRIPTION Photo retouching may have given this software its name, but Photoshop does so much more, making it the standard image-editing software used by creative professionals. From compositing images to creating collages of diverse materials, from coloring black & white photos to employing a variety of text effects, the possibilities seem endless and can be a bit overwhelming. Students will concentrate on basic tools and features in the Photoshop repertoire so that they master usable skills. The course will introduce more advanced features of Photoshop so that students may study independently or in future coursework. COURSE OUTLINE Class One Getting to Know the Work Area Using the File Browser Basic Photo Corrections Working with Selections Class Two Layering Basics Masks and Channels Class Three Retouching and Repairing Painting and Editing Class Four Basic Pen Techniques Vector Masks, Paths and Shapes Class Five Advanced Layer Techniques Creating Special Effects Class Six Preparing Images for Two-Color Printing Working with Camera RAW Setting Up Your Monitor for Color Management Producing and Printing Consistent Color MATERIALS Adobe Photoshop and Apples Preview software will be provided.
