Content Inside:Sage Vista Support MessagePage 1Sage MAS 90 and 200 Microsoft Windows Vista SupportBackgroundRegardless of the Vista compatibility status of the Sage products you use today many of the third party products that integrate with Sage applications may not support Microsoft Windows Vista for some time. In addition most software publishers will not be supporting prior versions of their product on Vista. Dell Computer has set a policy that all new consumer machines will ship with Microsoft WindowsVista. Customers must make a special request to purchase equipment with Microsoft Windows XP option on new machines. We highly recommend that Sage customers request to purchase new equipment with the Microsoft Windows XP operating system. Microsoft Windows Vista Support DefinitionIn order to provide clarity around support for Windows Vista Sage uses the following definitions: Vista Capable The Sage application can operate in the environment with reasonable workarounds that do not overly burden daytoday operation. The Vista machine must be configured to run in compatibility mode for the Microsoft Windows XP SP2 operating system. Vista Compatible The Sage application operates in the environment without special effort on the part of the user and operates as designed. Vista Exploitative The Sage application is optimized for use in the environment and takes advantage of unique features of the environment. Sage MAS 90 and 200Sage MAS 90 and 200 v4.2 does not support Vista today. In June 2007 we will be delivering a v4.2 Service Pack that provides Vista Capable support. Our Sage integrated products and most third party products* will be Vista Capable by September 2007. *exceptions will be noted as we continue to receive updates. Sage MAS 90 and 200 v4.1 does not support Vista today. In July 2007 we will be delivering a v4.1 Service Pack that provides Vista Capable support.
