Gain familiarity with new navigational tools for zooming panning measuringdistance identifying a mining claim disposition or alienation finding coordinates of a specific pointanywhere in the viewarea navigating to any location in the Province by inputting a geographical coordinate in lat/long or UTM downloading the vector claims/dispositions/alienations data in shapefile format (which can be read by ESRIs free Arc Explorer browser).?Learn to use the search tools for locating gplans township or Area maps individual mining claimsand individual dispositions (patent lease etc)New toolbar (#2 in the CLAIMaps III picture above)Notice that the new Provincial map is larger than the map in CLAIMaps 2. The Navigational buttons arelocated on the left hand side of the screen. In order to use these tools users must click on the tool to activeit.Toggle Overview Map?This allows users to turn on and turn off the small key map window in the upper lefthand corner of themap view screen. This small window does not form part of the printed map.?Having this key window to show the surrounding area is a new function for viewing claim maps notpreviously available in CLAIMaps 2.Page 2Zoom In?This tool allows users to zoom into specific areas instead of zooming into an area in predefinedincrements.?In order to use this tool users single leftclick their mouse on the desired location on a map. Byholding down the mouse button and dragging the mouse a small box opens that allows users tosurround the desired area and then release the mouse button.
